Samsung Accelerator

1. What is the Accelerator?

We are launching the Samsung Accelerator as an incubator for startups. Samsung is committed to building great customer experiences by marrying our leading hardware with innovative new software. We are looking for entrepreneurs who want to help us develop products and services that can become the connective tissue between our various devices – TVs, mobile phones, tablets, cameras, laptops, home theater systems, etc. The Accelerator is part of Samsung’s new Open Innovation Center, based in Silicon Valley and NYC, which will also invest in, acquire and partner with entrepreneurs and startups with great ideas.

2. Why should I join the Accelerator program?

Entrepreneurs with big ideas will be able to build products and services that could be distributed on tens of millions of Samsung devices worldwide, while sidestepping the usual distractions of building a company (see: fundraising, negotiating leases, etc.). You will have all the benefits of running a startup – fast pace, small teams, risk-taking energy – but with all the advantages of Samsung’s resources, access to our decision-makers and product roadmap, and distribution to our massive audience.

3. How can I get in touch with the Accelerator?

Send an email to sam@samsungaccelerator.com and we’ll be in touch.

4. Where is the Accelerator located?

We have temporary offices in Silicon Valley and New York City for now. As of June 2013, the Accelerator will be located in the historic Varsity Theater in downtown Palo Alto and in NYC’s Chelsea neighborhood.

5. What kind of ideas are you looking for?

We want to hear about all of your ideas, but our initial focus will be on products and services aimed at communications and productivity on phones, tablets and TVs.
